A new fever spreading in Sri Lanka

May 17, Colombo: Sri Lankan health officials today warned over a new type of fever spreading in several parts of the country.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry said body ache, headache, and fever that persist for several days are some symptoms identified with the new type of fever.

The Ministry pointed out that if these symptoms continue to persist for more than three days, it is vital to take a blood test.

They asked the people of the country to immediately seek treatment from the nearest government hospital if anyone suffering is from this new type of fever.

The Health Ministry said the symptoms of the new fever are bert similar to dengue fever.
