Medical investigation launched into mysterious deaths of Beddegama ? Welivitiya preschoolers
A medical investigation has been launched into the deaths of two preschool children from the Baddegama and Welivitiya areas.
Twelve pre-schools in areas under the purview of the Baddegama and Welivitiya Pradeshiya Sabhas have been shut down as a safety measure following the deaths of the two children.

Niyagama, Medical Officer of Health, , A.H.B.P. Gunawardena speaking on the issue said:
"Both children did not have the same symptoms. The first child, the boy, had been playing in his Montessori when he suddenly fainted. The second child came in the next day saying she had a stomach ache. She was conscious. The first child was not. Even when he was brought to hospital he was in great difficulty."
