THE Islamic Studies Department under the Ministry of Religious Affairs together with Pelambayan Religious School yesterday organised a recital of Ratib Al-Attas and prayers to seek for protection from Allah (SWT) against the Influenza A (H1N1) epidemic.

Ratib Al-Attas is a type of zikir that comprises a collection of selected verses. Muslims recite these verses to seek for protection, blessings and prosperity for oneself from any unwanted elements.

The religious ceremony held at the Pelambayan Religious School also aimed to familiarise students with Ratib Al-Attas so that they can incorporate it in their daily lives.

A total of 22 teachers and 302 students from Pelambayan Religious School participated in the Ratib Al-Attas recital yesterday, which was led by Ustaz Hj Sujairi Hj Dollar, a teacher from Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute.

Present at the function as guest of honour was Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Jawatan Luar Pekerma Raja Dato Seri Utama Dr Ustaz Hj Mohd Zain Hj Serudin.

Also present at the ceremony was Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Pg Hj Bahrom Pg Hj Bahar, Assistant Director of Islamic Studies Ustazah Hjh Fatimah Hj Abd Ghani as well as officers and staff of the ministry.
