Cadiz, 12 sep (EFE) .- The veterinary services of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Junta de Andalucia have confirmed the existence of a case of the virus West Nile Fever (West Nile) in Andalusia after testing positive result of a horse on a cattle farm in Barbate (Cádiz).

As reported by the Board in a statement, the affected animal showed symptoms consistent with the disease during a check carried out within the framework of the protocols for Animal Health Surveillance Program within the West Nile in Andalusia which works in coordination with the Ministries of Health and Environment.

Following confirmation of this outbreak, the Ministry of Agriculture has strengthened the surveillance plan for farming the area for early detection of the existence of new cases.
