Spain to start Swine Flu vaccinations this autumn

There are now 202 confirmed cases in the country
Vaccinations against the A(H1N1) virus are expected to start at the beginning of autumn, the Health Minister has confirmed. The estimated cost is almost 2 million ? and with this outlay between 25 and 30% of Spain?s population will be guaranteed a vaccine, 20 minutos reports.
The news came after a meeting of the Inter-territorial Health Committee on Wednesday, and it?s understood the Health Ministry will be buying the vaccines centrally, and will then pass on the lower price negotiated to the autonomous communities.
Spain has now passed the 200 mark of confirmed cases of Swine Flu. It was confirmed on Wednesday that 24 children are now affected in three schools in the Madrid Region, bringing the total number in the country up to 202. Many pupils still stayed away from school this Wednesday, when the two schools affected in Legan?s reopened after their closure on Monday afternoon. The third centre is a nursery school, which is not set to reopen until next week.
According to information from EFE, Spain is now in second place in Europe, behind the UK?s 339 confirmed cases of the flu virus.
