A 30 year old man died in hospital on Gran Canaria this Wednesday, the second death in Spain this week

A tenth person has fallen victim in Spain to the A(H1N1) virus, as confirmed by health authorities on the Canary Islands this Wednesday.

The regional government’s health department said the patient, a 30 year old man, died this Wednesday 12th July from complications related to the new flu, adding that he was in a group considered as vulnerable to the virus.

He’s understood to have been under treatment in the Hospital Insular on Gran Canaria since 29th July. His death, the second on the Canary Islands, came just two days after the ninth victim died in hospital in Valencia.

The autopsy on Spain’s third victim has meanwhile confirmed that she died from double pneumonia caused by the A(H1N1) virus. Mabel Innocent, a 33 year old woman from Nigeria, died in hospital in Palma de Mallorca on 16th July.
