La Conselleria de Salut i Consum notific? ayer el fallecimiento de un hombre de 69 a?os, con factores de riesgo, que fue ingresado en una cl?nica privada por una neumon?a causada por el virus de la gripe A.

La defunci?n se produjo en USP Cl?nica Palmaplanas, seg?n ha confirmado el citado establecimiento sanitario, en el que el fallecido, de nacionalidad extranjera, fue ingresado el pasado 29 de octubre con s?ntomas de insuficiencia respiratoria. Tras superar un cuadro cl?nico delicado que le llev? a la UCI el paciente fue trasladado a planta el 4 de noviembre y tuvo que volver a ser traslado a la UCI, por el empeoramiento generalizado de su estado de salud, a causa de una bacteria, el d?a 6 de noviembre.

El fallecido es la tercera v?ctima mortal relacionada con el virus de la gripe A/H1N1 en las Islas.
La primera fallecida a causa de la nueva gripe fue la nigeriana Mabel Innocent, que muri? el d?a 16 de julio en Son Ll?tzer, hospital en el que tambi?n falleci?, el 15 de noviembre, el peque?o Jaume Oliver de la Rocha, de dos a?os, segunda v?ctima mortal del virus.

El pasado d?a 16 de noviembre la Conselleria de Salut i Consum inici? la campa?a de vacunaci?n contra la gripe A. La administraci?n sanitaria dispone de 215.000 vacunas que ser?n distribuidas entre 190.000 personas que forman parte de los grupos de riesgo de contagio del nuevo virus. Entre la poblaci?n de riesgo est?n los 19.731 trabajadores p?blicos y privados de los sectores profesionales a los que se recomienda vacunar.

Tambi?n ya se ha empezado a vacunar a las mujeres embarazadas, entre 8.000 y 10.000, que hayan decidido vacunarse.
