They confirm the presence of bird flu in a natural park in Girona

The Central Veterinary Laboratory of Algete has confirmed the detection of the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI), H5N8, in three storks (Ciconia ciconia) and a wild goose (Anser anser) found dead in the Aiguamolls del Empord? Natural Park , in Castell? d'Emp?ries (Girona).
The four birds were located by the Rural Agents on January 5 and 11, as a result of the reinforcement of the passive surveillance of the surveillance program in Catalonia of this infectious disease.
