General Overview
Reporting completeness and timeliness remained at 76% and 68% respectively during week 28.
Measles cases continue to be reported in Bentiu where six cases were registered in week 28. The
priorities for the on going response include submission of samples to allow laboratory confirmation and
implementing enhanced routine measles vaccinations.
During week 28, Torit and Malakal counties registered the highest cholera weekly attack rates (cases per
10,000) of 30 and 19 respectively.
Hepatitis E Virus cases continue to be reported in Mingkaman where 59 cases and four deaths [case
fatality of 6.8%] have been registered. The majority 3 (75%) of the deaths occurred in pregnant women.
Malaria, Acute Respiratory Infections, and Acute Watery Diarrhoea (AWD) continued to account for the
highest disease risk in the IDP camps in week 28.
During week 28, the under five and crude mortality rates remained below the emergency thresholds in
all the camps.
Erratum: The increase in AWD cases in Renk reported during week 27 was due to an error.
