"Therefore, we recommend everyone exercise caution and use good hygiene practices to prevent any further spread of MERS."

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, recommended hygiene precautions include washing hands regularly, especially before personal contact with the eyes, nose, mouth, or when eating or drinking, covering your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, and avoiding personal contact with sick people.

The 51st Medical Group here established a care plan for the base and is working with U.S. and Korean public health officials to stay informed on any developing issues with the virus.
