Increasing No. of Avian Influenza Cases Reported

The government is detecting a rise of low-pathogenic avian influenza infections among wild birds.
The National Institute of Environmental Research said Thursday it found bird flu infections in 13-point-four percent of feces samples it collected from September to November.

The research agency noted it found 15 cases of highly pathogenic H-5 infections in Asan, South Chungcheong Province.
The institute will take necessary measures to prevent the spread of bird flu in cooperation with related agencies as soon as it receives the analysis of feces samples collected this month.
