Two men in their 30s, who had close contact with the patient zero, were confirmed positive for the deadly viral disease, according to the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

The 14th case is a 35-year-old patient who was hospitalized at the same ward with the patient zero, and the 15th case is a 35- year-old man who visited her mother being accepted to the same ward with the first patient.

According to the health authority of Korea, the two male patients, both aged 35, are respectively an in-patient hospitalised in the same hospital ward to which the first case was admitted, and the son of another female patient who was also hospitalised in the same hospital ward to which the first case was admitted.

To date, 14 MERS cases have been reported by Korea. In addition, another case was exported from Korea to Mainland China.

"We will maintain close communication with the World Health Organization and the health authority of Korea. Members of the public and the healthcare sector should heighten vigilance and stay alert to the latest situation," a spokesman for the CHP said.
