Highlights:

• Influenza Activity Level: Widespread
  
• ILI Activity Status (HHS Region 4 ILI baseline is 2.0%*): ABOVE baseline in the Upstate (2.78%), Midlands (3.98%), and along the Coast (4.95%). State ILI is 4.1%, a decrease from the previous week. These data reflect reports from 23 (27%) providers.
  
• SC Viral Isolate and RT-PCR Activity: During the past MMWR (44) week, 92 positive specimens were reported. Since October 4, 2009, 292 specimens tested by our Bureau of Labs (BOL) have been positive for influenza. A total of 201 positive specimens have been reported by other labs.
  
• Positive Rapid Flu Test Activity: There were 1607 positive tests reported.
  
• Hospitalizations: 87 hospitalizations were reported. Since September 1, 2009, 709 hospitalizations have been reported.
  
• Deaths: 5 deaths were reported. Since September 1, 2009, 29 deaths have been reported.
