4 More People Die of H1N1

Four more people have died in South Korea after being infected with the Influenza A virus, raising the death toll from the contagious disease to 52, according to the health authorities Tuesday.

Among the four was a 25-year-old woman who was not classified as a high risk patient. The others were a 79-year-old man and two women, aged 76 and 56. The latter three high-risk patients died after being diagnosed with H1N1, officials from the central disaster relief headquarters said.

The number of victims is feared to rise even further as officials were looking into at least nine other deaths suspected of being caused by the new flu.

The disaster relief headquarters, which acts as a control tower for the country's efforts to combat the spread of the disease, was set up last week under the Ministry of Public Administration and Security after the government raised its alert level for the flu to ``red'' ― its highest level.
