Five people are reported to have died of a yet to be identified disease in the Abudwak district of the Galgadud region. Residents living on the outskirts of the Abudwak district have also been affected by the strange disease. The disease is said to have been spreading for the last two months and remains unidentifiable. The disease has mostly affected pastoralists but is now rapidly spreading around the town. Dr. Ismail Somane, who is one of the medical practitioners in Abudwak, told Bar-kulan that despite practicing as a doctor in Abudwak for more than 30 years he has never seen such a disease. He added that he could not relate its symptoms with any other disease. Although there are others diseases the nomads experience and they describe them with different names, they could not identify this new strange disease. So far, there is no individual or organization that has made any effort to help the victims.
