Soc Trang declared free of bird flu disease
Nhan Dan - The People?s Committee of southern province of Soc Trang has declared that the province has been free from bird flu epidemic.
Accordingly, poultry raising, transportation, slaughtering and consumption are now allowed to return to normal in the province.
The epidemic broke out in Soc Trang in early February, 2009 and then spread to the province?s four districts with a total of over 43,000 poutries being culled.
The province has taken urgent measures to stamp out the epidemic. As a result, no outbreak has happened since March 11.
