Six communities abandon the epidemic level following a decline of cases in recent weeks
Asturias, Aragon, Valencia and Melilla, the worst hit by the virus according to the latest System Influenza Surveillance in Spain

El decrease of cases of influenza A/H1N1 taking place in recent weeks in Spain has meant that up to six autonomous communities (Catalonia, La Rioja, Navarra, Basque Country, Castilla y Leon and Cantabria ), and Ceuta and Melilla, have left the epidemic level according to the level of spread of the virus, becoming sporadic or local depending on each case.
This is reflected in the latest data available to the National Epidemiological Surveillance Network of the Instituto de Salud Carlos III for the week of 29 November to 5 December, in which there were 67,665 cases of influenza (99 per cent of influenza A), which represented a decrease of infection of 40 per cent over the previous week.
In this way, and thanks to the estimates from sentinel physician system, influenza incidence rate has also declined over a hundred points from 243.71 to 151.42, which does mean "the descent phase of pandemic wave, "which had its peak of incidence 15 days ago.
For communities, the region hardest hit by the flu in the last week has been Asturias, with 265.91 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, followed in Aragon (250.49), Valencia (216.55), Melilla (213.92) , Canary Islands (197.47), Castilla-La Mancha (189.21), Catalonia (181.52), Andalusia (168.73) and La Rioja (157.64).
Already below the national average are Baleares (with 146.27 cases per 100,000 population), Extremadura (141.48), Navarra (109.63), Ceuta (97.47), Basque Country (89.18), Castilla y Leon (82.58), Madrid (81.04) and Cantabria (62.56). In Galicia and Murcia, unspecified data this week.
In its distribution by age group shows a significant decline in incidence rates of influenza in groups of 0-4 years (43% over the previous week), 5-14 years (47%), 15-64 (33%) and more than 64 years (47%).
The most common symptoms are fever or feverishness (97%) and cough (92%) and cases in which information is available, the risk factor was identified as most common chronic respiratory disease (11%) and one in five (19%) reported contact with sick with flu.
