SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Sunday (29 March) announced 42 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore, taking the country’s total to 844.

Of the new cases, 24 are imported and 18 are local cases who have no recent travel history abroad:

14 more cases discharged; 42 new cases of COVID-19 infection confirmed

1. 14 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities (Cases 206, 314, 330, 346, 382, 426, 434, 502, 593, 601, 252, 269, 374 and 423). In all, 212 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged.

2. As of 29 March 2020, 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed and verified an additional 42 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore, of which 24 are imported and 18 are local cases who have no recent travel history abroad.

• The 24 imported cases[SUP]1[/SUP] had travel history to Europe, North America, Middle East, ASEAN and other parts of Asia.

• Eight cases[SUP]2[/SUP] are linked to previous cases.

• 10 cases[SUP]3[/SUP] are currently unlinked, and contact tracing is ongoing.

3. All Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and Long Term Pass holders returning to Singapore are issued a 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN). From 25 March, 2359 hours, UK and US returnees will serve their 14-day SHN in dedicated facilities. The SHN requirements will be strictly enforced so as to reduce the risk of community transmission from imported cases.

Links between previous cases found

4. Further epidemiological investigations and contact tracing have uncovered links between previously announced and new cases. This was made possible with the assistance of the Singapore Police Force.

a) 47 of the confirmed cases (Cases 94, 96, 107, 112, 114, 115, 116, 117, 118, 120, 121, 122, 125, 127, 128, 129, 130, 131, 133, 134, 137, 139, 140, 142, 144, 145, 146, 148, 149, 150, 155, 156, 157, 158, 159, 160, 161, 164, 166, 174, 179, 185, 186, 196, 201, 218 and 224) are linked to a private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong on 15 February. Two (Cases 142 and 144) are linked to boulder+ Gym and Church of Singapore (Bukit Timah).

i. Six of the confirmed cases (Cases 142, 162, 163, 305, 345 and 443) are linked to boulder+ Gym (12 Kallang Avenue).

ii. Five of the confirmed cases (Cases 144, 208, 214, 235 and 283) are linked to the Church of Singapore (Bukit Timah) (2B Hindhede Road).

b) Three of the confirmed cases (Cases 183, 252 and 310) are linked to Masjid Al-Muttaqin (5140 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6).

c) 26 of the confirmed cases[SUP]4[/SUP] are linked to a cluster at PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Fengshan Blk 126 (126 Bedok North Street 2). 16 of the cases[SUP]5[/SUP] are staff at the preschool, and 10[SUP]6[/SUP] are family members of Case 601.

d) Eight of the confirmed cases (Cases 556, 618, 626, 662, 686, 713, 729 and 761) are linked to a cluster at Dover Court International School (301 Dover Road). Seven are staff at the school and Case 729 is a contact of Case 618.

e) Five of the confirmed cases (Cases 581, 689, 724, 740 and 796) are linked to a cluster at SingPost Centre (10 Eunos Road 8).

f) Three of the confirmed cases (Cases 745, 802 and 810) are linked to a new cluster at The Wedding Brocade (1 Yishun Industrial Street 1).

5. Contact tracing is underway for 71 locally transmitted cases to establish any links to previous cases or travel history to affected countries or regions.

Cases from public healthcare sector

7. Case 741 (announced on 28 March) is a 42 year-old Singapore Permanent Resident who has no travel history to affected countries or regions. She reported onset of symptoms on 24 March, and subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on 27 March afternoon. She is currently warded in an isolation room at Sengkang General Hospital.

8. She is employed as a nurse at Sengkang General Hospital. Prior to hospital admission, she had gone to work. Contact tracing is ongoing.

Update on condition of confirmed cases

9. To date, a total of 212 cases have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.

10. Of the 423 confirmed cases who are still in hospital, most are stable or improving. 19 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit. 206 cases who are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19 are isolated and cared for at Concord International Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Gleneagles Hospital and the Community Isolation Facility at D’Resort NTUC. Three have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.

Update on contact tracing for confirmed cases

11. Contact tracing for the confirmed cases is ongoing. Once identified, MOH will closely monitor all close contacts. As a precautionary measure, they will be quarantined for 14 days from their last exposure to the patient. In addition, all other identified contacts who have a low risk of being infected will be under active surveillance, and will be contacted daily to monitor their health status.

12. As of 29 March 2020, 12pm, MOH has identified 11,779 close contacts who have been quarantined. Of these, 4,178 are currently quarantined, and 7,601 have completed their quarantine.

6. Case 853 is a 20 year-old male Malaysian national who is a Singapore Work Pass holder, and had been in Malaysia from 16 March to 17 March. He reported onset of symptoms on 28 March, and subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on 29 March afternoon. He is currently warded in an isolation room at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases.

7. He is employed as a porter at NCID, and had not gone to work after onset of symptoms.

47 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore, including 31 local cases

SINGAPORE: Singapore reported 47 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday (Mar 31), bringing the total number to 926.

Of the cases confirmed on Tuesday, 31 are local cases with 13 linked to existing clusters or other individuals. Eighteen remain unlinked.

Sixteen cases are imported, including eight that had travelled to the United Kingdom. The rest of the imported cases had travelled to Australia, Canada, Denmark and Indonesia. One long-term pass holder had travelled to Malaysia.

All but one of the new cases are Singaporeans or permanent residents.

Of the 420 patients who are still in hospital, 22 are critically ill in the intensive care unit, said Health Minister Gan Kim Yong. A total of 208 patients have been discharged from acute care and 295 have been transferred to "step-down facilities", he added...

The Ministry of Health has confirmed that a patient has died from complications due to Covid-19 infection on Thursday at 6.43am.

Case 1028
6. Case 1028 is a 26 year-old female Malaysian national who is a Singapore Work Pass holder, and had been in India from 2 March to 18 March. She reported onset of symptoms on 20 March, and subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on 1 April afternoon. She is currently warded in an isolation room at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).
7. She is employed as a healthcare attendant at the Institute of Mental Health but had not gone to work since onset of symptoms.
Case 963 (Announced on 1 April)

8. Case 963 is a 26 year-old male Bangladeshi national who is a Long Term Pass holder with no recent travel history to affected countries or regions. He reported onset of symptoms on 28 March, and subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on 31 March afternoon. He is currently warded in an isolation room at Sengkang General Hospital (SKH).

9. He is employed as a contractor working on the installation of toilet facilities at SKH. Prior to hospital admission, he had gone to work but had not interacted with patients.

11. Of the 464 confirmed cases who are still in hospital, most are stable or improving. 23 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit. 315 cases who are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19 are isolated and cared for at Concord International Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Gleneagles Hospital and the Community Isolation Facility at D’Resort NTUC. Four have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.

SINGAPORE: A total of 65 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Singapore on Friday (Apr 3), of which 56 are local cases.

Of the new local cases, 39 are linked to previous cases while 17 are currently unlinked.

d) 11 additional cases are linked to the cluster at S11 Dormitory @ Punggol (2 Seletar North Link), which has a total of 24 confirmed cases now (Cases 826, 829, 852, 860, 946, 947, 966, 979, 982, 993, 1035, 1039, 1047, 1050, 1066, 1074, 1083, 1084, 1089, 1107, 1108, 1110, 1111 and 1112).
e) Eight additional cases are linked to the cluster at Westlite Toh Guan dormitory (18 Toh Guan Road East), which has a total of 18 confirmed cases now (Cases 655, 875, 922, 924, 925, 926, 934, 977, 1011, 1012, 1054, 1062, 1068, 1072, 1100, 1101, 1106 and 1113).
f) Three additional cases are linked to the cluster at Mustafa Centre (145 Syed Alwi Road), which has a total of 14 cases now (Cases 616, 788, 866, 908, 911, 938, 1001, 1015, 1024, 1026, 1046, 1056, 1093 and 1096).
g) One additional case is linked to the cluster at a construction site at Maxwell MRT station (50 Neil Road), which has a total of six cases now (Cases 869, 900, 1000, 1009, 1034 and 1069).
h) One additional case is linked to the cluster at Keppel Shipyard (51 Pioneer Sector 1), which has a total of four cases now (Cases 878, 898, 907 and 1076).
i) One additional case is linked to the cluster at Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home (1 Thomson Lane), which has a total of 13 cases now (Cases 918, 973, 976, 983, 984, 985, 986, 987, 988, 989, 990, 1004 and 1055).
j) One additional case is linked to the cluster at Dover Court International School (301 Dover Road), which has a total of nine confirmed cases now (Cases 556, 618, 626, 662, 686, 713, 729, 761 and 1098).
k) One additional case is linked to the cluster at Wilby Residences (25 Wilby Road), which has a total of nine confirmed cases now (Cases 439, 678, 793, 818, 848, 864, 873, 980 and 1075).
l) One additional case is linked to the cluster at Hero’s (69 Circular Road), which has a total of nine confirmed cases now (Cases 192, 556, 657, 670, 714, 813, 940, 1013 and 1097).
4. Contact tracing is underway for 127 locally transmitted cases to establish any links to previous cases or travel history to affected countries or regions.

Update on condition of confirmed cases
6. To date, a total of 282 cases have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.
7. Of the 473 confirmed cases who are still in hospital, most are stable or improving. 25 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit. 354 cases who are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19 are isolated and cared for at Concord International Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Gleneagles Hospital and the Community Isolation Facility at D’Resort NTUC. Five have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection

Update on contact tracing for confirmed cases
8. Contact tracing for the confirmed cases is ongoing. Once identified, MOH will closely monitor all close contacts. As a precautionary measure, they will be quarantined for 14 days from their last exposure to the patient. In addition, all other identified contacts who have a low risk of being infected will be under active surveillance, and will be contacted daily to monitor their health status.
9. As of 3 April 2020, 12pm, MOH has identified 15,442 close contacts who have been quarantined. Of these, 5,007 are currently quarantined, and 10,435 have completed their quarantine.

Passing of Patient With Covid-19 Infection

The Ministry of Health has confirmed that a patient has passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection on 3 April 2020 at 1.55am. She was an 86 year-old female Singapore Citizen who had no recent travel history to affected countries and regions.
2. She was admitted to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) on 31 March, and was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on the same day. She eventually succumbed to the infection.
3. NCID has reached out to her family and is extending assistance to them.

On Friday, Singapore said it would close schools and most workplaces for a month as part of stricter measures to curb a recent jump in coronavirus infections. Singapore has reported a total of 1,309 infections and six deaths from the coronavirus.

Heng said the new measures unveiled in the third budget will increase the total spending on coronavirus relief to 59.9 billion Singaporean dollars ($41.8bn) or 12 percent of gross domestic product (GDP). He said Singapore will draw an additional 4 billion Singaporean dollars ($2.8bn) from its past reserves to fund the new measures.

SINGAPORE: Singapore reported 66 new COVID-19 cases on Monday (Apr 6), bringing the national total to 1,375, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said in its daily update.

One of the new cases is imported and the remaining cases are locally transmitted. Twenty-four more patients have been discharged, taking the total number of people who have fully recovered to 344.

Among the local cases, MOH has established links to existing clusters for 35 cases. Of these, 24 are linked to cluster..

SINGAPORE - Singapore reported 142 cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday (April 8), a record high, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) in its daily update.

Of these, 140 are local cases and two are imported. They bring the total number of cases here to 1,623.

Among the local cases, links to existing clusters have been established for 55 cases, of which 40 are linked to clusters at foreign worker dormitories.

There are 13 cases that have been linked to other cases. Contact tracing is being done for the remaining 72 cases.

MOH also said that a man who later tested positive died while awaiting test results. A 32-year-old Indian national who had been swabbed on April 7 and advised to stay home pending test results died on April 8 at his residence. He was confirmed to have Covid-19 after his death. His chest X-ray indicated he did not have pneumonia and investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of death.

MOH also said that 29 patients were discharged on Wednesday. To date, a total of 406 cases have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.

Of the 669 confirmed cases still in hospital, most are stable or improving, with 29 in critical condition in the intensive care unit. Six have died from complications due to Covid-19 infection...

SINGAPORE: Singapore reported another death linked to COVID-19 and 198 new cases on Friday (Apr 10), taking the total number of cases to 2,108.

An 86-year-old Singapore woman ​died from complications due to COVID-19 infection on Thursday night, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said...

...In total, seven people have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.

This does not include a 32-year-old Indian national who died at his residence on Wednesday after being tested at NCID on Tuesday for COVID-19. He was confirmed to have the disease on Wednesday after his death...
