Good interview Sharon.
I was pleased you made the point that without sufficient testing, we will not know when/if there is a serious mutation at it's earliest stages. Given poor Mexico's experience with the "unknown" pathgen when this strain first circulated, it should be clear that the medical community needs current data on what they're dealing with.
Even if CDC & state labs don't publish their data, it would be reassuring if they would state their random/sentinel testing structure and results.
