Hyderabad: Breaking News!

Shantha, which was recently acquired by Sanofi Pasteur, has launched an oral vaccine against Cholera, which is the first of its kind in the country. The oral vaccine will be known as Shanchol.


The new vaccine can be administered to children in the age group of one to five. That will reduce the risk of developing cholera at the outbreak. It is expected to bring a new revolution in Indian medical history.

The oral vaccine was developed in collaboration with the International Vaccine Institute (IVI), Seoul, Korea. It was tested on about 70,000 individuals in Kolkata.
