Sesau investigates death of Swiss with suspected influenza A

The Ministry of Health (Sesau) is investigating, since last Friday (4), another suspected death from the H1N1 virus. This is a Swiss 57 years living in Brazil and a resident of Miami, who died in the Hospital School H?lvio Auto, likely due to complications caused by influenza A.
All procedures have been adopted, according to Superintendent of Health Surveillance, Sandra Canuto. "The technicians at the Central Laboratory of Alagoas (Lacen) collected nasopharyngeal secretion of the victim and the material has already been sent for laboratory analysis Fiocruz, which will certify whether or not the Swiss was a victim of the H1N1 virus," it said.
According to the Center for Strategic Information for Health Surveillance (CIEVS), the victim was admitted, the principle in Arthur Ramos Memorial Hospital. But it is important to emphasize that the victim was a cardiac patient and used medication for three years. This only reinforces the importance of vaccinating against the flu, "warns Sandra Canuto.
