We read this often in reports: "the deceased had H1N1, but did not die of the new flu, but of complications" .

This is what the current pandemic is all about: it can happen people fall ill seriously or die from complications of the new H1N1.

Svinjski grip u Srbiji: Umrlo jo? troje!

G. G. (37) i M. R. (57) umrli juče u bolnici u Kragujevcu.

Umrla beba zara?ene Romkinje

The number of dead from the swine flu in Serbia has risen to 14

In Serbia are still two people died of swine flu and the number of dead due to H1N1 virus infection among our eastern neighbors climbed to 14, Blic reported. 48-year-old and 30-year-old man died at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases in Nis, in the General hospital in Uzice died 40.godi?nja women.

Among the 14 people who are in Serbia so far died of swine flu, four of them were completely healthy. "Will the virus with a cause pneumonia or not, depends only on luck. In other words, there are people who have receptors that receive the virus in the deep parts of the lungs. What these receptors is lower, the greater the possibility that inflammation occurs in parts of the lungs. There arises intersticijalna pneumonia or swelling that does not allow oxygen to pass, "explains Dr. Predrag Kon, President of the Working Group against pandemic flu.

Dr. Kon is also said that such a person because of illness must be immediately connected to respirators, and if you are suffering from something, recovery is difficult and can quickly get to a fatal outcome, explains Dr Kon who says that these receptors can have a healthy person and are those in the same risk and chronic patients.

The creation of drug resistance "tamiflu" and "relenca" not a mass phenomenon that we have to say that the new viruses. It can not be seen even by clinical picture, nor the characteristics - says Dr. Tidorović.

"Tamiflu" is still active
He explains that the subtypes of the virus are identical and therefore no major changes, and that due to the mutation is not to eliminate drug or vaccine.
- I understand the fear that we may have a vaccine that will help. But the new vaccine protects against influenza in our country there is no new phenomenon, nor expect them to be during this season. You may change the appearance of the end of next year - said Dr. Tidorović.

Chairman of the Working Group on Pandemic Dr. Predrag Kon said that "tamiflu will not be withdrawn from use in Serbia.

Vaccine to the test
The Agency for Drugs and Medical Devices Serbian (ALIMS) say that the Press with them during the registration procedure of a new vaccine against influenza.

- Is currently in progress about the process of obtaining permits for placing the drug on the market for a new flu vaccine manufacturers, "Novartis". This process consists of several elements, including the analysis of samples in the registration and analysis of samples of the first series, which is imported to our market - say in ALIMS-in.

- 60 isolated viruses that are resistant to "tamiflu" and there are thousands of cases in which the very "tamiflu" helped. This is good medicine, we have a spare - "relenca" which can also be applied - Kon said.

In Serbia, the new virus Official affected 340 people. According to the report of the Institute for Public Health "Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut", is currently in hospital treatment under the suspicion that the illness of swine influenza treated 542 patients, while 18 of respirator.
