To date, 7657 cases have been declared positive, of which 5097 have been cured, 141 have died, and therefore 2418 under treatment.

This Wednesday 08 July 2020, the Ministry of Health and Social Action received the results of the following virological examinations:

Out of 788 tests carried out, 110 returned positive, giving a positive rate of 13.96%. The positive cases are distributed as follows:

87 contact cases followed by our services;
23 cases from community transmission divided between: Gu?diawaye (3), Rufisque (3), Keur Massar (2), Libert? 5 (2), Parcelles Assainies (2), Derkl? (1), Grand M?dine (1), HLM Grand Yoff (1), Libert? 4 (1), Mbao (1), M?kh? (1), Point E (1), Popenguine (1), Salgalkam (1), Touba (1) and Ziguinchor (1).
74 hospitalized patients were tested negative and declared cured.
37 serious cases are taken care of in the intensive care units.
4 new deaths related to COVID-19 were recorded in our structures, this Tuesday July 07, 2020.
The health status of other hospitalized patients is stable.

To date, 7657 cases have been declared positive, of which 5097 have been cured, 141 have died, and therefore 2418 under treatment.

Coronavirus in Senegal: the number of cases rises to 8,481, all on the record this July 16, 2020

Senegal announced on Thursday July 16, 2020, 112 cases of Covid-19 coronavirus infection, bringing the provisional total to 8,481.

On 1,173 tests carried out over the past 24 hours, the health authorities counted 84 follow-up contact cases and 28 from community transmission, said the director of prevention at the ministry, Mamadou Ndiaye.

He added that three deaths had been recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing to 156 the death toll from COVID-19 since the start of the epidemic in Senegal.

The cumulative number of patients discharged from hospital or treatment center since March 2 now stands at 5,735, with 130 recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours, added Dr. Ndiaye.

The Ministry of Health also announced Wednesday evening that travelers entering or leaving Senegal could undergo a test for the virus by RT-PCR, at a cost of 40,000 CFA francs (about 70 dollars), from four structures.

These are the Institut Pasteur de Dakar, the Institute for Health Research, Epidemiological Surveillance and Training (IRESSEF), the bacteriology-virology laboratory at Aristide Le Dantec hospital and the hospital laboratory military of Ouakam.
