Dakar - The Senegalese Ministry of Health and Social Action reported on Wednesday 96 new Covid-19 contaminations and a cumulative of 3,932 cases since March 2.

These 96 new infections were listed on a sample of 1,549 tests, or a rate of 6.19% seropositivity, said the director general of health, Marie Kh?messe Ngom Ndiaye, noting that of this total of new infected, 80 are contact cases followed by health services and 16 were infected with community transmission.

A record number of 109 cured patients has been recorded, according to Ms. Ngom Ndiaye.

The cumulative number of people healed since the onset of the pandemic in Senegal amounts to 2,063, she said, adding that 17 patients are still in intensive care in hospitals, three more than the previous day.

The number of deaths caused by Covid-19 also increased, with two new victims. A total of 45 people died from coronavirus disease.

According to the Director General of Health, 1,823 patients are still on treatment.

Dakar - The Minister of Health and Social Action, Abdoulaye Diouf Sarr, announced on Thursday 89 new cases positive for the coronavirus, bringing to 4021 the toll of contaminations in the country.

Among the newly infected patients, 74 are contact cases followed by the health services, said Abdoulaye Diouf Sarr, during a situation report on the pandemic, noting that the other 15 cases stem from community transmission.

Ninety-nine patients who tested negative and declared cured will be discharged from the hospital, while sixteen others are in serious condition, he added.

Since March 2, Senegal has recorded 4,021 positive cases of Covid-19, including 2,162 cured, 45 deceased and 1,873 under treatment in hospitals.

Several measures to ease the state of health emergency, including the lifting of the ban on interurban transport and the adjustment of the duration of the curfew, now set between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. (instead of 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. ), were announced Thursday by the Minister of the Interior and Public Security, Aly Ngouille Ndiaye.

The Senegalese Ministry of Health and Social Action reported on Monday 99 new Covid-19 contaminations, bringing the number of cases reported since March 2 to 4,427.

Of 1010 tests performed, 99 returned positive to Covid-19, a positive rate of 9.8%, said the Director General of Health, Doctor Nd?ye Marie Kh?mess Ngom Ndiaye.

During the daily press briefing on the situation of the pandemic, she clarified that these are 88 follow-up contact cases, 2 cases imported via Blaise Diagne Airport and 9 cases resulting from community transmission in Dakar.

One hundred and eleven hospitalized patients were declared cured while 14 serious cases were treated in the intensive care units.

To date, Senegal has counted 4427 cases of Covid-19 including 2699 cured, 49 deaths and 1678 patients on treatment.

The Senegalese Ministry of Health and Social Action announced on Friday that it had counted 92 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus, bringing the total to 4,851 cases.

Out of 1,005 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 92 returned positive, including 74 follow-up contact cases and 18 cases from community transmission, said ministry spokesman Dr. Alyose Waly Diouf.

According to Dr. Diouf, a number of 106 patients were declared cured during the same period, bringing to 3,100 the number of cures since the beginning of the epidemic on March 2 in Senegal. Since Monday, the average cure has exceeded 100 cured this week in Senegal.

The curve of patients in intensive care in hospitals has increased from 20 to 23 patients. The death toll rose to 56, with the disappearance of a 70-year-old patient on Thursday.

To date, Senegal has 4,851 cases, of which 3,100 have been cured and 56 have died.
