Senegal / Covid-19: 96 new infections, 3,932 in total

Dakar - The Senegalese Ministry of Health and Social Action reported on Wednesday 96 new Covid-19 contaminations and a cumulative of 3,932 cases since March 2.
These 96 new infections were listed on a sample of 1,549 tests, or a rate of 6.19% seropositivity, said the director general of health, Marie Kh?messe Ngom Ndiaye, noting that of this total of new infected, 80 are contact cases followed by health services and 16 were infected with community transmission.
A record number of 109 cured patients has been recorded, according to Ms. Ngom Ndiaye.
The cumulative number of people healed since the onset of the pandemic in Senegal amounts to 2,063, she said, adding that 17 patients are still in intensive care in hospitals, three more than the previous day.
The number of deaths caused by Covid-19 also increased, with two new victims. A total of 45 people died from coronavirus disease.
According to the Director General of Health, 1,823 patients are still on treatment.
