SENEGAL: 84 new cases tested positive for coronavirus, 1 new death, 60 new cured patients and 6 severe cases in intensive care.
Out of 992 tests carried out, 84 returned positive to the coronavirus, ie a positivity rate of 8.46%. Covid-19 pandemic in Senegal: 2 new deaths and 2,429 cases declared positive

Senegal has recorded two new cases of death linked to Covid-19, which brings to twenty-five the number of deaths linked to Coronavirus. To date, 2,429 cases have been declared positive, including 949 cured, 25 deceased and 1,454 patients still on treatment.

This Friday, May 15, 2020, the Senegalese Ministry of Health and Social Action received the results of virological examinations which show that out of 1,128 tests carried out, 121 returned positive, representing a positivity rate of 10.7%. The positive cases are distributed as follows:

119 contact cases followed by the services of the Ministry of Health including 02 cases from community transmission coming from Gu?diawaye (01) and Touba (01).

48 hospitalized patients were tested negative and declared cured.
06 serious cases are treated in the intensive care units of Fann Hospital (01) and the Main Hospital (05).
The health status of other hospital patients is stable.

Regarding the two new deaths recorded Friday, May 15, the first is a 58 year old man who died at his home in Parcelles Assainies. The test carried out on the victim returned positive on May 14, 2020.
The second is a man aged 60, living in Pire. He died on May 15, 2020 at 6:50 am at the Dakar Main Hospital.

The Ministry of Health and Social Action urges people to strictly respect collective and individual prevention measures.

This Sunday, May 17, 2020, the Ministry of Health and Social Action received the results of the following virological examinations:

out of 816 tests carried out, 51 returned positive, representing a positive rate of 6.25%. The positive cases are distributed as follows:

47 contact cases followed by our services;
04 cases from community transmission divided between Yoff (01), Dakar Plateau (01), Yeumbeul (01), and Touba (01).

24 hospitalized patients were tested negative and declared cured.
09 serious cases are treated in the intensive care units of Fann Hospital (03) and the Main Hospital (06).
The health status of other hospital patients is stable.

To date, 2480 cases have been declared positive, of which 973 have been cured, 25 have died, and therefore 1481 under treatment.

The Ministry of Health and Social Action urges people to strictly respect collective and individual prevention measures.

Dakar - Senegal announced on Wednesday 97 new contaminations with the new coronavirus, bringing to 2,714 the cases of Covid-19 identified in the country since March 2.

These additional infections were detected from virological tests on 1,042 subjects, said spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Aloyse Waly Diouf.

He said that 83 of the new infected people were contact cases, while the other 14 were from community transmission.

The Minister of Health’s chief of staff also reported 53 more patients were healed, bringing to 1,182 the number of patients declared cured in Senegal since the appearance of Covid-19 in the country.

A total of 1,497 patients infected with the new coronavirus are under treatment in the various care establishments in the country, which has so far deplored 30 deaths and the evacuation of a patient to his country of origin by his relatives.

The announcement was made by the director of cabinet of the Ministry of Health, Dr Aloyse Waly Diouf, who gave an update on the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic in Senegal. Two new serious cases were added to the number which was 9 yesterday.
As of May 21, 2020, Senegal has 2,812 positive cases including 1,251 recovered, 26 deaths, 30 deaths, one evacuated and 1,530 still under treatment, including 11 serious cases in intensive care.

DAKAR, May 23 (Xinhua) - Senegal recorded 67 new COVID-19 infections this Saturday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 2,976, spokesman for the Ministry of Health and 'Social action, Dr. Aloyse Waly Faye, during a press briefing.

He said the 67 new cases were detected on a sample of 934 tests performed in the past 24 hours.

These new infections concern 49 cases followed by health structures and 16 others from community transmission, including the 14 identified in Dakar, the epicenter of the pandemic in the country.

With 105 patients declared cured, the number of people discharged from the treatment centers rose to 1,416, he continued, adding that twelve people are being treated in the intensive care units.

The number of deaths related to COVID-19 increased to 34, with a new death. He is a 62-year-old man whose post-mortem test returned positive.

To date, Senegal has 2,976 cases declared positive, including 272 cases resulting from community transmission, 88 imported cases and 2,616 contact cases.

Dakar - The Senegalese Ministry of Health and Social Action reported on Wednesday 92 new infections with the new coronavirus, bringing to 3253 the number of cases declared positive for covid-19 since the onset of the disease in the country.

Out of 961 tests carried out, 92 returned positive to Covid-19, representing a positivity rate of 9.57%, said the Director General of Health, Marie Kh?m?s Ngom Ndiaye.

She specified that 80 of the new contaminations came from the contact cases followed while 12 came from community transmission in Dakar (8) and Touba (4).

Twenty-one patients have been declared cured, the ministry spokesman said, adding that the other patients' health is stable.

To date, Senegal has counted 3253 cases of Covid-19 including 1586 cured, 38 deaths and 1628 patients on treatment.

Dakar - Senegal recorded 94 new cases of coronavirus and 57 new healings on Monday (1,858 in total) on Monday, the Ministry of Health and Social Action announced.

Dakar - Ninety-seven new Covid-19 infections were reported on Tuesday by the Senegalese Ministry of Health and Welfare, bringing the total number of positive cases in the country to 3,836, including 1,954 cured.
For 1,024 tests done in the past 24 hours, 97 are positive, representing a positive rate of 7.24%, said director general of health, Marie Kh?messe Ngom Ndiaye.
According to the official, these are 77 follow-up contact cases and 20 cases caused by community transmission, a record for this type of contamination since the start of the epidemic in Senegal.
Ninety-six patients were tested negative and declared cured, giving a total of 1,954 cures since the onset of the pandemic in Senegal on March 2.
According to Ms. Ndiaye, 14 patients are still in intensive care in hospitals.
To date, Senegal has 3,836 positive cases of coronavirus, including 1,954 cured, 43 deceased and 1,838 patients still on treatment.
