The Lake County Health Department received confirmation of an influenza H1N1 (Swine) Flu related death of a 57-year-old male resident of Lake County. This case involved health conditions associated with higher risk of medical complications from the flu.

Most people who get either the seasonal or H1N1 (Swine) flu will have mild illness, will not need medical care or antiviral drugs, and will recover in less than two weeks. Some people, however, are more likely to get flu complications that result in being hospitalized and occasionally result in death.
