Two suspected cases of deadly Legionella being probed in Glasgow

DR Syed Ahmed says GPs in the city have been alerted after two patients showed symptoms.
TWO suspected cases of deadly bug Legionella are being probed by health experts.
The two cases in the north-west of Glasgow are linked to a rare strain of Legionella micadadei.
Both patients showed symptoms more than two weeks ago and there have been no new cases since.
Public health consultant Dr Syed Ahmed added: ?We have written to GPs in the area alerting them to these possible Legionella cases as a precautionary measure.
?We have asked GPs to consider the possibility of Legionella infection in any patients who may present with evidence of community- acquired pneumonia.?
