Reports say that several people have been affected in the city
An outbreak of Scarlet Fever has been detected in M?laga.
La Opini?n de M?laga reports that several people have been affected in M?laga city, including adults and children.
The main symptom is the purple tongue from which the disease takes its name, along with a red rash, fever, general malaise and inflammation of the tonsils.
It is transmitted in the same way as a cold or flu and has an incubation period of between two and four days.
It?s the second outbreak of the disease in the province of M?laga this year, after an earlier outbreak at a school in Rinc?n de la Victoria last March.
Although not a common illness, it can now be easily treated with antibiotics and is generally gone in ten days. Local health officials have said there is no reason for any panic.
