Winthrop Student Dies from Mysterious Illness

Rock Hill, SC (WLTX) -- A Winthrop University student from Columbia passed away from complications from an unexpected illness.

Winthrop University says Lindsay H. Salter, a sophomore special education major, passed away Saturday after leaving campus to return home to Columbia. Salter was an active member of her Margaret Nance Hall residential community.

Columbia Special Education Major Who Loved Her Friends Passes Away

ROCK HILL, S.C. ? A Winthrop University student described as someone who ?consciously looked after her many friends? passed away on Saturday, March 15.

Lindsay H. Salter, a sophomore special education major from Columbia, S.C., passed away due to complications from an unexpected illness after leaving campus to return home to Columbia. Salter was an active member of her Margaret Nance Hall residential community.

Frank Ardaiolo, vice president for student life, passed along the following request from Salter?s mother via campus e-mail to faculty, staff and students that captured her daughter?s spirit: ?Ask the students to remember her by befriending others, serving each other with kindness and love beyond themselves."
