Two cases of viral meningitis confirmed at Upstate high school

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. ?Hillcrest High School officials say that two separate and unrelated cases of viral meningitis have been confirmed at the school.
The school's website says that the students diagnosed are not in the same grade or on the same athletic team, though they have sanitized all football equipment and weight and locker rooms...

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. ?Hillcrest High School posted more information to its website Friday about reported cases of meningitis in an effort to reassure parents and the community, according to Greenville County School District representative Beth Brotherton.
The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control confirmed for the school that the two cases of viral meningitis are not related, the school said.
?Viral meningitis is not a DHEC reportable illness,? the post said. ?Doctors and other medical professionals are not required to notify DHEC when a patient tests positive. There is no requirement for schools or other public organizations to notify their community.?...
