The flu virus might have claimed its first victim of the year in Anderson County.
A patient at AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson died Monday, and hospital officials are awaiting test results from a state laboratory to confirm whether influenza was the cause of death, AnMed spokeswoman Heidi Charalambous said Wednesday.
