Tne new case of avian influenza (H5N8) recorded in Al-Ahsa Governorate

- The number of samples that arrived at the veterinary diagnosis laboratory in Riyadh until this day (2092) samples since the beginning of the incontinence. The samples were collected based on citizens' reports, survey procedures and investigations in the vicinity of infected areas as well as non-infected areas for early detection of any possible infection.
- The number of highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5N8) cases among birds during the past 24 hours in the Kingdom was one in the traditional breeding hothouses in Al-Ahsa governorate.
- The field teams in Riyadh, Al-Kharj, Dharma and Muzahmia governorates continue to implement the safe disposal of birds, sanitation and prevention in 4 projects. The emergency plan is fully implemented at these sites and the affected areas are cleared.
- The field teams in Thadak governorate have completed the safe disposal of birds in traditional breeding habitats, completed the cleaning and prevention procedures and implemented the emergency plan in the vicinity of the site.
- The field teams in Al-Ahsa province continue the procedures for safe disposal of infected birds in a number of fauna in the new areas of infection and the vicinity of the areas where the infection was detected, the implementation and completion of the emergency plan at those sites and the clearance of the affected areas.
- Field teams in Al-Qassim have also continued to conduct epidemiological investigations, sanitary disposal and disinfection in farms and restrooms located in the vicinity of the area where the infection was detected and declared previously.
- The number of communications received by the emergency room during the past 24 hours was 8, all of which were received, while the emergency room reached 39 inquiries. Thus, the total number of communications and inquiries since the outbreak of the disease reached 810.
- The number of rounds of veterinary surveillance and guidance for highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5N8) during the past 24 hours (25) awareness tour in markets and gatherings in all regions of the Kingdom.
