Re: Satire - Pandemic Flu song
Oh WOW that has just made my night! I love it.!!!!!!!
I hope I can get a copy of that that I can play as part of my community presentation on bird flu.
It reminds me of the fact that we are in contemporary fashion following what others have done in medical disasters of mass fatalities. Songs have been a well known way to help the community cope with fear, trauma and uncertainty.
Ring Around The Rosie was about Death Plague / pandemic of the 14th century. The ?ring around the Rosie? was the red rash that was often the first symptom of the disease. ?The pocket full of posies? was a reference to the practice of giving the sick person flowers as a form of protection. ?The Ashes? was a descriptive sound for the sneezing that the infected person would have. And of course the 'we all fall down' eloquently describes the projection of death all around the area.
The current video is wonderful from a comedy perspective but there are numerous issues and affects that are extremely interesting as well.
This video could become a classic thanostic art example of pre-pandemic coping.
Don?t want to get too heavy in the comedy room. If anyone is interested in more discussion abut thanostic art ( art related to dying , death and bereavement) including thanostic humor (which there is a lot of thru the centuries) let me know and we can open a thread in the death, dying and bereavement room.
I?m trying to respect the lightheartedness of this room and the fact that some people may want to have only fun stuff here. I can certainly understand that. We all need fun!
