Dozens of Students and Staff to be Tested for TB Today

Today (Tues.) is the day of testing for tuberculosis or TB among students and staff at James L. Alexander School.

The school had a case show up at the beginning of the month. Parents were sent a letter on Wednesday, May 11th.

Medical Health Officer with Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Dr. Johnmark Opondo wouldn't share whether it was a student or teacher with TB. He did say though that the chances of spreading it were very low and that the strains in Canada are not the type which are immune to antibiotics...
