Alert: Outbreak Declared at Swift Current Care Centre - Updated Oct. 5

The Cypress Health Region, under the guidance of Consulting Medical Health Officer Dr. David Torr, has issued an 'outbreak' status for the Swift Current Care Centre.

The outbreak has been declared following the discovery of residents and staff experiencing norovirus-like symptoms.

As every effort is being made to eradicate the virus, the facility will not be able to allow visitation at this time. The only exception to this guideline is in the case of extenuating circumstances where ?end of life? situations are in place. In these situations, families can call ahead to the facility and speak to the Long Term Care Nurse in charge to discuss the options available.
