Saskatchewan is reporting six more deaths related to COVID-19 and 318 new cases diagnosed over a two-day period.

On Monday, the province added 179 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths.

On Tuesday, the province added 139 new COVID-19 cases and four additional deaths.

Four of the six people who died were aged 60 to 79, and two were 80 or older...

...Of Tuesday's new cases, nearly 47 per cent are in the 20 to 39 age category.

Saskatchewan has 1,625 known active cases and 50,583 cases are considered recovered.

There are 100 people in hospital, 14 of whom are in the ICU. Of those in hospital, 69 per cent are people who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Saskatchewan's seven-day average of daily new cases is 184, or 15.3 new cases per 100,000 people.

Saskatchewan reported 216 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, the highest amount of daily new cases since May 14 when 229 cases were reported...

...There are 108 people in hospital with COVID-19, including 20 patients who are receiving intensive care.

Active cases in the province have dropped by 97, with a total of 1,528 recorded as of Wednesday.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 172 or 14.3 per 100,000 population...

REGINA -- Saskatchewan reported two more deaths related to COVID-19 on Thursday and 158 new cases.

One death was reported in the Southwest zone and another in the South Central zone.

Active cases in the province sit at 1,602. The seven-day average of new cases is 169, or 14 new cases per 100,000 people...

... One hundred and four Saskatchewan residents are being treated for COVID-19 in hospital, with 19 patients in intensive care.

Since the province dropped all public health measures on July 11, the seven-day average of daily new cases has risen from 43 to 169 and hospitalizations have doubled, jumping from 54 to 104 in 46 days.

On Wednesday, the Saskatchewan Health Authority reported ICUs and emergency rooms in Regina and Saskatoon are under significant pressure...

REGINA -- The Government of Saskatchewan reported 258 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, along with two additional deaths.

Both new deaths were recorded in the North Central zone, according to data from the province’s COVID-19 dashboard. A total of 596 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died...

... The government said 40.3 per cent of new cases are in the 20 to 39 age group. Of Friday’s new cases, 81 per cent are not vaccinated, while seven per cent are partially vaccinated and 12 per cent are fully vaccinated.

Saskatchewan currently has 1,753 cases considered active, the highest mark since 1,770 active cases were reported on May 22.

There are 97 people in hospital related to COVID-19, including 22 patients in intensive care.

The seven-day average of daily new COVID-19 cases is 177, or 14.7 per 100,000 population...

REGINA -- The Government of Saskatchewan reported 369 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, the largest single-day increase since January 15.

One death, a person from the Regina region in the 40-59 age group, was also reported. A total of 597 Saskatchewan residents have died due to COVID-19.

The number of Saskatchewan Delta variant cases identified through screening rose by more than 300 on Saturday...

... The province said 15 false positive cases were removed from total count.

There are 1,987 COVID-19 cases considered active in Saskatchewan.

A total of 110 people are in hospital related to COVID-19, including 25 patients in intensive care.

COVID-19: 3 new deaths pushes Saskatchewan total to over 600

Saskatchewan has now reported more than 600 deaths from residents who tested positive for COVID-19.

On Monday, the Saskatchewan government announced three more COVID-19 deaths, which pushes the provincial total to 601.

Monday’s update also saw the province record 199 new COVID-19 infections and 195 recoveries...

...Active cases saw a slight increase at 2,068. The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers is 228 or 19.0 new cases per 100,000.

Forty per cent of new cases are in the 20 to 39 years age category and just over 13 per cent of new cases are residents who are fully vaccinated.

Hospitalizations have increased with 111 people being hospitalized. 84 are receiving inpatient care while 27 are in ICUs.

The government shared that of the 111 patients, 80 patients, or just over 72 per cent, were not fully vaccinated...

REGINA -- Saskatchewan reported 30 COVID-19 patients are being treated in the province’s intensive care units. ICU admissions have nearly tripled since the 11 reported on Aug. 1.

One-hundred Saskatchewan people are receiving inpatient treatment for COVID-19 in hospital.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, ninety-seven of the COVID-19 patients being treated in Saskatchewan hospitals are not fully vaccinated.


The province reported 274 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing active cases in the province to 2,204.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 248, or 20.6 new cases per 100,000 people. This is the highest seven-day average since April 30.

There were two new COVID-19-related deaths reported. To date 603 Saskatchewan residents have died after testing positive for the virus...

Saskatchewan reported four COVID-19-related deaths on Wednesday as the number of new cases in the province continues to surge.

Three of the deaths were in people aged 60 to 74 and one death was reported in the 80+ age category.

There have now been 607 COVID-19-related deaths reported in the province since the start of the pandemic...

...In the last 30 days, active cases have increased by 400 per cent, going to 2,372 on Wednesday from 474 on Aug. 2.

There were 321 new cases reported on Wednesday, the highest daily total of new cases since mid-April, with 35.5 per cent of the new cases in people between the ages of 20 and 39...

...The hospitalization rate continues to rise, with 134 people receiving treatment — 30 who are in intensive care.

Health officials said 72.4 per cent of people hospitalized were not fully vaccinated...

REGINA -- The Government of Saskatchewan reported 267 new COVID-19 cases and one death on Thursday.

The province’s 608th COVID-19 related death was a person in the Saskatoon zone...

.. Approximately two-fifths, or 38.6 per cent, of new cases are in the 20 to 39 age group.

There are currently 2,466 cases considered active, following 170 more recovered cases confirmed on Thursday.

A total of 134 Saskatchewan residents are in hospital related to COVID-19, including 23 in intensive care. The province said 97 of the 134 patients are not fully vaccinated.

Sask. records highest 1-day spike in COVID-19 cases in 9 months

Saskatchewan reported its highest one-day daily total of new COVID-19 cases in nearly nine months.

The province reported 418 new cases on Friday. The last time this many new daily cases were reported in the province was on Dec. 6, 2020, when 419 cases were reported.

Of those new cases, health officials said about one in seven (13.2 per cent) were fully vaccinated...

...The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 302 — 25.1 new cases per 100,000.

That is the highest the seven-day average has been since Jan. 17, when it was 308.

Overall, there were 2,755 active cases as of Friday in the province.

Health officials said of the new cases reported, 34.9 per cent are in the 19 and under age category.

Two new deaths were reported on Friday, one a person between the ages of 60 and 79, and the other a person aged 80-plus. It brings the death toll to 610.

Officials said 135 are in hospital for treatment; 23 are in intensive care...

... A total of 2,894 cases are currently considered active.
As of Saturday, 138 people are in hospital related to COVID-19, including 22 patients in intensive care. The province said 99 patients, or 71.7 per cent, are not fully vaccinated.

REGINA -- Saskatchewan reported 389 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday, bringing active cases in the province to 3,119.

Of the 389 new cases, 303 are in unvaccinated individuals, 29 have received one dose or are within 14 days of their second dose and 57 are fully vaccinated.

There was one new death reported Sunday. To date, 611 Saskatchewan residents have died after testing positive for COVID-19.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 318, or 26.4 new cases per 100,000 people. Saskatchewan’s seven-day average has only once been higher, on Jan. 11 with 26.5.

The province reported 163 additional recoveries.

One hundred thirty-eight Saskatchewan residents are being treated for COVID-19 in hospital, with 25 in intensive care. Ninety-eight hospitalized patients are not fully vaccinated...

It’s another day of at least 300 new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan.

On Tuesday, the provincial government announced one new death, 305 new COVID-19 infections and 372 more recoveries.

The province’s death total has increased to 613...

...Active cases fell to 3,184, down from 3,252 on Monday. It’s the first time the province has reported a decrease in active cases since Aug. 25.

The seven-day average of daily COVID-19 cases continues to grow as the province announced 350, or 29.1 new cases per 100,000.

The government shared that over 38 per cent of new cases are in the 19 and under age category, while just over 13 per cent new cases are from fully vaccinated residents.

Hospitalizations are also on the rise with 154 individuals being hospitalized on Tuesday, including 125 inpatient hospitalizations and 29 ICU hospitalizations. The government update added that 110 (71.4 per cent) of the 154 patients are not fully vaccinated...

REGINA -- Saskatchewan continues to break records set in the first, second and third waves of COVID-19 as the fourth wave of the pandemic continues to impact the province’s unvaccinated population.

The government confirmed 405 new cases on Wednesday, marking the sixth day in a row the province has counted more than 300 new cases – something not seen in the first three surges. Saskatchewan also broke its seven-day average of new cases for the third day in a row as the seven-day average hit 362.

Of the 405 new COVID-19 cases, 327 are in people who are unvaccinated....

... Hospitalizations increased from 154 to 181, marking the third highest jump on record. Thirty-two of the 181 COVID-19 patients in hospital are in intensive care; ICU patients are in the Saskatoon (19), Regina (six), North Central (five), Northwest (one) and Central East (one) zones.

According to the government, 135 of the 181 COVID-19 patients in hospital are unvaccinated.

The province said two more people have died from COVID-19, bringing the provincial total to 615. Both deaths were reported in the Southwest zone.

There are 3,331 active cases in Saskatchewan, a number not seen since January...

REGINA -- Saskatchewan confirmed its 23rd COVID-19-related death in the 20-39 age group on Thursday.

The death was a person from the Saskatoon zone, according to data from the province’s COVID-19 dashboard. A total of 616 residents have died after testing positive for COVID-19.

The province also reported 286 new COVID-19 cases. Of the new cases, 245 are unvaccinated, 14 are partially vaccinated and 27 are fully vaccinated.

As of Thursday, 184 people are in hospital related to COVID-19, including 32 patients in intensive care.

The province’s seven day average of daily new cases is 364, or 30.2 per 100,000 population. The daily average is at the highest mark recorded throughout the pandemic – and has been rising steadily since the beginning of August...

REGINA -- Saskatchewan confirmed 432 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday – the second highest number on record and highest number in 2021 – as an unchecked fourth wave of the virus rages across the province.

The new cases pushed the seven-day rolling average of new cases to 366, breaking the province’s record for the fifth day in a row.

There are 3,573 active cases in the province, a number not seen since late January...

... Of the 432 new cases, 363 are in people who are unvaccinated. Thirty-four per cent of new cases are in the 0-19 age group, with 140 of the 148 in unvaccinated youth. CTV News has reached out to the province for the number of the unvaccinated cases in children age 0-11, who are not eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.

The province reported one more death on Friday, bringing the total to 617. The person who died was between the ages of 60 and 79 and was from the Saskatoon zone.

There are 190 COVID-19 patients in hospital across the province, up from 135 one week ago and the highest number seen since April. There are 39 COVID-19 patients in ICU, including 20 in Saskatoon, six in Regina and eight in the North Central zone...

The Saskatchewan government reported 341 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday and eight new patients in hospital with COVID-19.

Saskatoon reported 78 cases, followed by the north central zone with 47 cases.

The 0-to-19 age group reported 120 new cases, while 116 cases were in residents who are unvaccinated. It is unclear how many of those 116 individuals are under the age of 12 and therefore are not eligible for vaccination.

One more resident who tested positive for COVID-19 has died, the province also reported Saturday.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 364 or 30.2 per 100,000 population.

REGINA -- Saskatchewan confirmed 420 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, marking the second time in three days the province has added more than 400 new cases.

The government also recorded three deaths, bringing the total to 621. The three people who died were all over the age of 60.

There are 198 COVID-19 patients in hospital across the province, up from 138 last Sunday. Forty-five of those patients are in the ICU, an increase of 20 from one week ago. Of the 198 patients in hospital, 154 (78 per cent) were not fully vaccinated, according to the government...
