Saskatchewan reported five more COVID-19-related deaths of seniors Tuesday. This brings the province's total COVID death toll to 165.

All five seniors were 80 or older. One was from the north central, one was from the north east, one was from the south central and two were from the Regina zones.

The province reported 153 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, as of Tuesday a total of 4,254 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Saskatchewan. The majority of the doses are a part of the province's pilot project, which is complete in Regina and nearing 90 per cent complete in Saskatoon.

The province said planning for second doses in the pilot program is underway. Further details will be released soon...

Nine more Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. There have now been more COVID-19 related deaths in 2021 than in the first five months of the pandemic.

One of the new deaths was a person in the 20 to 29 age group in Regina. Another was someone aged 60 to 69 and in the central west zone, two were in the 80 and older age group in the south east zone, two people were aged 80 and older in the Regina area, one was in the 80 and older age group in the north central zone and two were in the Saskatoon area: one in the 60 to 69 age group and one in the 50 to 59 age group.

There are 277 new cases of COVID-19 in the province Wednesday. Saskatchewan's test positivity rate is currently 13.2 per cent...

Saskatchewan saw a spike in new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, reporting 334.

The province's seven-day average of daily new cases is now 254 — or 20.9 new cases per 100,000 population.

It was at 153 just eight days ago on Dec. 30.

Three more seniors have died in Saskatchewan after being diagnosed with COVID-19. This brings the province's COVID-related death toll to 177...

REGINA -- The Government of Saskatchewan reported seven more COVID-19 related deaths on Friday, along with 336 new cases.

The seven deaths include one person from the north central zone above the age of 80, four people in the Regina zone, including one in their 60s, two in their 70s and one above the age of 90; and two people from the southeast zone, including one in their 30s and another above the age of 80.

The province has reported 184 total COVID-19 related deaths.

Saskatchewan now has 3,053 active cases, reporting 223 new recoveries on Thursday...

REGINA -- Seven more people have died related to COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, the Government of Saskatchewan reported Saturday.

Four deaths were recorded in the north central zone, including one person in their 70s and another three people above the age of 80; and two deaths were recorded in the Regina zone, including one person in their 60s and another above the age of 80. One person in their 50s from the southeast zone also died.

Saskatchewan has reported 191 total COVID-19-related deaths.

The province also reported 332 new COVID-19 cases, along with 189 new recoveries. There are now 3,186 active COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan...

Eight more people have died in Saskatchewan and hospitalizations from COVID-19 are at an all-time high.

Four of the deaths were in the 80 and older age group, two were in the 60 to 69 range, one was in the 50 to 59 range and one was in the 30 to 39 range.

According to the province, 197 people are in hospital right now, with 31 in intensive care. The previous hospitalization record was 182.

There are 412 new known cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, bringing the number of known active cases to 3,735.

Today also pushes Saskatchewan to its highest seven-day new case average ever at 307. The previous was Dec. 12 at 292...

Coronavirus hospitalizations top 200 for 1st time in Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan has hit another milestone, surpassing 200 coronavirus-related hospitalizations for the first time on Wednesday.

In the province, 205 people are currently in hospital with COVID-19 — 169 are receiving inpatient care and 36 are in intensive care.

Two deaths were added to Saskatchewan’s death toll for a total of 206, according to the Saskatchewan government.

The recently deceased were in the 80-plus age group and reported in the north central and Saskatoon zones, according to a press release.

Health officials said there were 247 new cases in Wednesday’s update, with the overall total for the province growing to 19,017 since the first case was reported in March 2020. The new seven-day average of daily cases is down to 316.

According to a press release, most of the new cases are located in the Saskatoon zone (82), followed by north east and north east (27), north west (24), Regina (23), far north west (12), south east (11), far north central (10), far north east (9), central east (8) and one in central west. Residence information is still pending for 13 new infections.

REGINA -- The Government of Saskatchewan reported 312 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, along with 201 new recoveries.

No new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded. The province’s active cases now sit at 3,859.

Saskatchewan’s seven-day average of daily new cases is 313, or 25.9 new cases per 100,000 population.

Saskatchewan recorded 382 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday – the third highest number reported since the start of the pandemic.

The new cases are scattered across provincial zones, with the double-digit counts in Saskatoon (88), the Far North West (46), North West (45), Regina (42), North Central (38), North East (36), South East (30), and Central East (14)...

... Four more people have died due to the virus. Two people were in their 60s, they were from the North East and South East zones. The two others were in the 80 plus age group. They were from Saskatoon and the South East zone.

Of the deaths reported, one person was in their 60s and lived in the Central West zone. Five others were in their 80s, two of whom lived in the Regina zone, two lived in the South East zone and one lived in the Saskatoon zone.

To date, 225 people in Saskatchewan who tested positive for the virus have died.

On Tuesday, the province's total caseload rose to 20,871.

REGINA -- The Government of Saskatchewan reported four new COVID-19 related deaths and 234 new cases on Wednesday.

The province also reported 694 new recoveries. Saskatchewan currently has 3,702 active COVID-19 cases.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 298, or 24.6 new cases per 100,000.

The province removed three deaths from the total count, after it determined they were not COVID-19 related.

Of the four deaths, one person was in their 60s, one person was in their 70s and two people were over the age of 80.

Saskatoon leads the province in new cases with 66, followed by the north west zone with 39, the far north west zone with 27 and the Regina zone with 23.

Seven cases tested out of province were added to the total case count.

There were 2,559 COVID-19 tests processed in the province on Tuesday.

Yesterday, there were 2,658 doses of COVID-19 vaccines distributed in Saskatchewan, bringing the province’s total vaccinations to 27,233...

New daily record of 13 coronavirus deaths reported in Saskatchewan

A new daily record was set for coronavirus-related deaths in Saskatchewan with 13 on Thursday, according to the provincial government.

There have been 239 COVID-19-related deaths in the province to date.

Nine of the recently deceased were in the 80-plus age group and reported in the far north east (1), north central (1), south east (1) and Saskatoon (6) zones, according to a press release. Another death was reportedly a person in their 60s from Saskatoon while three others were in their 70s and in the far north central, north central and Saskatoon zones.

Health officials said there were 227 new cases in Thursday’s update, with the overall total for the province growing to 21,338 since the first case was reported in March 2020. The new seven-day average of daily cases is down to 286.

According to a press release, most of the new cases are located in the Saskatoon zone (62), followed by Regina (50), north central (21), north west (18), far north west (14), central east (12), south east (12), north east (11), far north east (7), far north central (6), central west (4), south central (4) as well as two in south west. Residence information is still pending for four new infections.

In the province, 197 people are currently in hospital with COVID-19 — 166 are receiving inpatient care and 31 are in intensive care.

Saskatchewan has no more COVID-19 vaccines left to distribute as the remaining 642 doses were administered on Saturday.

The province said it reached 101 per cent capacity of doses administered and recorded an overage due to "efficiencies" in drawing extra doses from vials of vaccines received.

There were 148 doses administered in Saskatoon, 261 in the Northwest and 233 in the Southeast zones.

Sunday's update said there were 260 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, bringing the provincial total to 22,177 cases.

REGINA -- Saskatchewan reported 240 new cases of COVID-19 and one death on Monday, according to a government press release.

The person who died was from the North Central zone and above the age of 80.

The new cases are scattered across the province, located in the Far Northwest (17), Far North Central (2), Far North East (3), Northwest (33), North Central (12), Northeast (36), Saskatoon (49), Central West (5), Central East (30), Regina (42), South Central (2) and Southeast (6) zones.

There are 202 people in hospital, 32 people are in the ICU.

The province saw 217 more recoveries on Monday. There are currently 3,272 active cases of the virus in Saskatchewan.

A new daily record was set for coronavirus-related deaths in Saskatchewan with 14 on Tuesday, according to the provincial government.

There have been 268 COVID-19-related deaths in Saskatchewan to date.

Six of the recently deceased were reported in the 80-plus age group and from the far north west, north central, Regina, south east and Saskatoon (2) zones, according to a press release. There were also three in their 70s from the Regina, Saskatoon and south east; two in their 60s from Saskatoon; two in their 50s from Regina and Saskatoon; and one in their 40s from north central.

The province’s hospitals are currently providing care for 208 patients with COVID-19 — 175 are receiving inpatient care and 33 are in intensive care.

According to Tuesday’s update, there were 232 new cases with the overall infection total in Saskatchewan now at 22,646. The new average of daily cases is down to 254, which is the lowest average since Jan. 8 when it was 248...

REGINA -- Saskatchewan reported six COVID-19 related deaths on Wednesday, along with 149 new cases – the lowest daily case count since Dec. 30.

One person who died was from Saskatoon and in their 50s, a second death was someone in the 60s from the North Central zone, and four people who died were older than 80 and from the Saskatoon zone.
