REGINA -- Saskatchewan reported two COVID-19 deaths Sunday, including one person in their 20s, along with 98 new cases.

The person who died in their 20s is from the Regina zone and the other was over the age of 80 in the Far North West.

With an additional 166 recoveries, there are currently 1,399 cases considered active in the province.

The 98 new cases are located in Regina (27), Saskatoon (25), Central East (15), South West (six), South East (six), Far North East (six), South Central (four), North West (three), North East (two) and North Central (one). One new case is pending residence information.

Five cases with previously unknown residence information have been assigned to the North West (four) and Regina zones (one)...

REGINA -- Saskatchewan reported 156 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, along with two more deaths and 161 recoveries.

Of the new cases, 101 are in the Regina zone. Additional new cases are in the Far Northwest (two), Far Northeast (seven), Northwest (seven), Saskatoon (16), Central West (one), Central East (four), Southwest (three), South Central (one) and Southeast (eight) zones. Six new cases are pending residence information.

Saskatchewan reported 87 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.

A resident in the 80-and-older category from the northwest zone of the province has died due to the novel coronavirus, bringing the death toll to 410.

There are no new confirmed variants of concern (VOC) cases to report in Saskatchewan, but there are now 313 presumptive VOC cases. That number has increased by 103 since Tuesday.

Regina, with 264 presumptive cases, has 84 per cent of the presumptive VOCs. There is also one presumptive case in the northeast, six in Saskatoon, five in the central east, 23 in the south central and 14 in the southeast zones.

REGINA -- There are 115 new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan, the province reported on Thursday. There were 96 new recoveries and one additional death.

The person who died was over 80, from the Saskatoon area.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 128, or 10.4 new cases per 100,000 people.

There are 1,282 active COVID-19 cases in the province.

VARIANTS OF CONCERN (VoC)

Saskatchewan reported no new confirmed cases of VoCs on Thursday, however there are 120 new presumptive VoC cases.

There are now 433 presumptive positive cases of VoCs in Saskatchewan. Regina is the location of 90 per cent of the province?s VoC cases.

Saskatchewan reported 174 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday. Three more residents have died due to the illness caused by the novel coronavirus.

One of the people who died was in the 80 and older age group from the central west zone. Another was a person in their 60s from the far north west zone, and the third resident who died was in their 50s and from the far north central zone.

There have now been 414 deaths in the province due to COVID-19.

There are 21 new confirmed cases inovolving the more transmissible coronavirus variants of concern (VOC) in Saskatchewan.

There are now 156 confirmed cases involving those variants ? 149 of the B117 variant, which was first detected in the U.K., and seven of the B1351, which was first detected in South Africa. The Regina zone accounts for 141, or 90 per cent, of the confirmed VOC cases reported in Saskatchewan.

There are also 508 presumptive VOC cases in the province, with one in the far northeast, 13 in Saskatoon, six in the central east, 434 in Regina, 30 in the south central and 24 in the southeast zones.

Regina has 85 per cent of all presumptive VOC cases.

Of the 31,259 known COVID-19 cases to date in the province, 1,345 are considered active.

REGINA -- Saskatchewan reported 200 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, along with 82 new presumptive cases of variants of concern (VoC).

Three more Saskatchewan residents have died after testing positive for COVID-19. The recent deaths were two residents of the Far Northeast zone, one in their 60s and another over 80, and one residents of the North Central zone in their 30s.

VARIANTS OF CONCERN

There are no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 VoCs on Saturday, but the province reported 82 new presumptive cases of VoCs. There are now 590 presumptive cases of VoCs in Saskatchewan, 504 of which are located in Regina.

The remaining presumptive cases are located in the Far Northeast (one), Saskatoon (13), Central East (six), South Central (38) and Southeast (28) zones.

COVID-19 CASES

There were 180 new recoveries on Saturday, and 1,434 COVID-19 cases are active in the province.

In Saskatchewan, 135 people are in hospital including 27 in ICU.

Saskatchewan reported 178 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday. One Regina resident in their 80s who tested positive for COVID-19 has died.

There have now been 418 deaths in the province due to COVID-19.

Saskatchewan reported 205 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the provincial total of cases to 31,842.

There are no new confirmed cases involving the more transmissible coronavirus variants of concern (VOC) in Saskatchewan.

However, there are now 748 presumptive positive VOC cases, an increase of 123 from the 625 presumptive VOC cases reported on Sunday.

The presumptive positives are located mostly in Regina with 640 presumptive VOC cases, followed by 42 in south central, 39 in the south east, 18 in Saskatoon, eight in central east, and one in the far northeast.

As of March 22, there are 156 confirmed VOC in Saskatchewan: 149 cases of the B1117 variant, and seven cases of the B1351 variant. The Regina zone accounts for 141 cases ? or 90 per cent ? of the confirmed VOC cases reported in Saskatchewan.

REGINA -- The Government of Saskatchewan confirmed there are 891 cases of COVID-19 Variants of Concern (VoC) in the province, as of Tuesday.

Moving forward, the province will be reporting all screened VoC cases as confirmed for the purpose of public reporting and contact tracing.

The province also reported one COVID-19 death and 150 new cases on Tuesday.

Of the 891 variant cases, 763 were detected in Regina. VoCs have also been found in the Far North East (one), Saskatoon (18), Central East (10), South Central (56) and South East (43) zones.

The province has identified the lineage of 360 VoC cases, including 352 cases of B.1.1.7 and eight cases of B.1.351.

Regina currently accounts for more active cases than all of the other Saskatchewan zones combined, with 755 of the total 1,472 active cases.

Active cases in the Regina zone have increased 78 per cent over the last month.

50 NEW CASES, 1 DEATH

One person who tested positive for COVID-19 has died, according to the Government of Saskatchewan. The person from the South Central zone was in their 60s.

REGINA -- The Saskatchewan government has expanded public health measures for Regina and area due to rising COVID-19 rates.

All private indoor gatherings are restricted to immediate household members, effective immediately. People who live alone will be allowed to meet with one household of fewer than five people.

Effective Sunday, all restaurants and bars must close for in-person dining; take-out and delivery is still allowed.

All non-essential indoor locations that had a 30 person limit must close.

Venues including banquet and community halls, conference facilities, arts venues, museums, libraries, live theatre, cinemas, arcades, bowling and science centres will also be forced to temporarily close...

Saskatchewan reported 190 new cases of COVID-19 and one more death on Wednesday.

The most recent death was a person in the 80-and-older category in the northwest zone. There have been 420 COVID-19-related deaths reported in Saskatchewan since the pandemic began.

The new cases Wednesday were reported as follows:

Far northwest, seven.
Far northeast, one.
Northwest, 10.
North central, two.
Northeast, four.
Saskatoon, 26.
Central east, five.
Regina 116.
Southwest, one.
South central, two.
Southeast, nine.

Seven new cases reported Wednesday are pending location information.

As of Tuesday there were 954 variants of concern identified through screening in Saskatchewan.

Previously, the province said these were reported as "presumptive positives," but now all screening tests are to be considered confirmed as variants of concern until identified otherwise.

There are currently 360 cases of COVID variants with confirmed lineage in Saskatchewan. The province said cases in Regina make up about 87 per cent of them.

Wednesday's update clarified that the variant cases identified through screening and the cases with confirmed lineage should not be added together to find a "total" number of variant cases, as some may appear in both groups.

There were 147 people in hospital as of Wednesday, the province said. Of them, 22 are in intensive care: eight in Saskatoon, two in the central east, 11 in Regina and one in the south central.

VARIANTS OF CONCERN

There are 110 new VoC cases in Saskatchewan. There are 1064 VoC cases in Saskatchewan to date, 895 of which are in Regina.

The province is able to report that 118 new lineage results have been reported, however it did not provide the results of the new findings.

Of the 478 VoC cases that have lineage results to report, 470 are B1.1.1.7 (UK) and eight are B1.351 (SA).

One person who died was in their 40s in the North Central zone, the other was in their 70s in the Central East zone.

REGINA -- Saskatchewan reported eight COVID-19 deaths and 213 new cases on Friday, along with 148 recoveries.

Seven of the eight deaths were reported in Regina; one person was in their 50s, three were in their 60s and three were older than 80. The eighth death was a person in their 50s in the Northwest zone.

Of the 213 new cases, 104 ? or 49 per cent ? are in the Regina zone. The rest of the new cases are in the Far Northwest (four), Far Northeast (five), Northwest (ten), North Central (nine), Northeast (eight), Saskatoon (34), Central West (one), Central East (three), South Central (14) and Southeast (13) zones. Eight new cases are pending residence information.

There are 155 people in hospital; 22 people are in the ICU.

Labs have confirmed the lineage of 473 VoC cases through whole genome sequencing; there are 465 B.1.1.7 cases and eight B.1.3.5.1 cases in the province.

REGINA -- The Government of Saskatchewan reported 85 newly detected COVID-19 variants of concern on Saturday, along with 224 new cases and 87 recoveries.

The province has now identified 1,240 variants of concern, it said in a release.

"Variants of concern (VoC) are beginning to rise across southern Saskatchewan, particularly in the Moose Jaw area," the release reads.

Variants of concern have been detected in the Far North East (one), Saskatoon (18), Central West (one), Central East (24), Regina (1,041), South Central (80) and South East (75) zones.

COVID-19 in Sask: 217 new cases, 3 more deaths, 44 people in ICU
Number of variant cases continue to rise in several areas

Saskatchewan health officials are reporting 217 new cases of COVID-19 and three related deaths on the day the provincial government releases its 2021-2022 budget. The number of people under intensive care also remains high at 44.

The majority of the new cases announced Tuesday, 97, were in the Regina area, which is under enhanced COVID-19 public health guidelines due to the spread of COVID-19 variants in the area.

The rest of the new cases were reported in the following areas: far northwest (five), northwest (11), north central (three), northeast (two), Saskatoon (30), central east (17), southwest (one), south central (14), and southeast (36) zones. One new case has pending residence information. Two cases that previously had pending residence information have been assigned to the Regina zone.

The new cases were based on 2,924 tests being processed...
