The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is warning the public after a case of measles was confirmed in Swift Current.

According to the health authority, anyone who attended the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current from Friday, March 7 to Monday, March 10 and used the entrance, elevator and fourth floor of the E.I. Wood Building on March 6 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. should monitor themselves for measles symptoms.​..

There's another new measles case in Swift Current.

After announcing one confirmed case last week, the Saskatchewan Health Authority said today they have an additional confirmed case at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current, and another suspected case in the southwest area of the province.

The cases don't appear to be connected.

"They are not spreading from the Swift Current case," said SHA Medical Health Officer Dr. Dravid Torr. "The second one did present to the Swift Current hospital. The third under investigation presented elsewhere and also is not related to these two. Measles is spreading across the country. Any other new case could appear anywhere right now. I really need everyone in the province to be on alert for this. Come forward and get your vaccinations up to date."

The cases involve two adults and one child. They are in the south west health networks between south west one and five.​...

​SASKATCHEWAN — Measles, a disease thought to be all but eradicated in Canada more than a quarter century ago, is making a resurgence.

This highly contagious disease has seen a slow increase in cases in Saskatchewan, including a case in early March in Swift Current, confirmed by the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA). A second case was confirmed on the week of March 17 and a third presumed case is still being investigated...

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is warning residents in North Battleford and Saskatoon about a potential exposure to measles.

In a teleconference with media Thursday afternoon, health officials said there were three confirmed cases of measles in the province — two in the southwest, and one in the north.​..

...The SHA says anyone who attended the following locations in North Battleford and Saskatoon between March 20 and 24 may have been exposed to the virus:

Saskatchewan Health Authority reports 6th measles case in province’s southwest

​The Saskatchewan Health Authority says there are now six confirmed measles cases in the province.

Medical Health Officer Dr. David Torr said on Thursday the most recent case was found in southwest Saskatchewan and involves an unvaccinated adult who travelled from Mexico and the United States.

He said the other cases have been reported in the province’s southeast, southwest and northwest.​..

Measles cases in Saskatchewan have almost doubled in the past week and health officials are expecting to see new cases daily, the province's top doctor says.

Since March 14, the Saskatchewan Health Authority has confirmed 27 cases of measles in the province, 15 of which happened in the past week, according to Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab.

"Our cases are rising rapidly now," Shahab told reporters Thursday morning in Regina. "We are now in Saskatchewan part of the unprecedented North American measles outbreak.… We are now entering a phase where we will likely see cases every day."

All confirmed cases were linked to travel outside the province, but health officials are bracing for community spread as numbers rise. Most cases are happening in rural communities in central and south parts of the province, Shahab said.​..

​REGINA — Health officials in Saskatchewan still consider the current measles situation "concerning," with more cases likely to come.

At a media event on Friday, Saskatchewan's Chief Medical Health Officer, Dr. Saqib Shahab, said 37 measles cases have been confirmed in the province as of Wednesday, May 14th.

Of those 10 new cases reported in the last week or so, Shahab said southern rural parts of Sask. are starting to see local transmissions.

Saskatchewan is seeing a spike in measles cases, with the Ministry of Health confirming local transmission of the infection in southern rural areas.

According to provincial Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab, between March 14 and May 14, there were 37 measles cases reported in the province. The cases range in age from five months to 57 years.

He said 77 per cent of the cases are in preschool and school-aged children, and 95 per cent are unvaccinated. Two individuals had received one dose of the vaccine, while one was fully vaccinated. Shahab noted that occasional breakthrough cases are expected.

There have been four hospitalizations so far. Shahab said the hospitalization rate can range from two to four per cent, and up to 10 per cent in some cases.

Most new cases are in the central west and central east zones, initially linked to travel or close contact with infected individuals. However, local transmission is now being seen in individuals with no travel history, particularly in southern rural Saskatchewan. Recent advisories have warned of potential exposures in Assiniboia, Gravelbourg and several other communities.

“As we discussed last week, the situation remains concerning but not, unfortunately, surprising,” Shahab said.​..

Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) advised on Saturday afternoon of a measles exposure risk in Regina and Swift Current.

The SHA said in a news release that people who were at the following locations at the specified times should monitor for measles symptoms for up to 21 days after exposure.​

The Regina locations are:

​ROSTHERN — The Saskatchewan Health Authority is warning the public about a potential measles exposure at a gas station in Rosthern.

Confirmed cases of measles have prompted the SHA to issue an alert for those who visited Rosthern Gas Plus, located on Highway SK-312, on Wednesday, July 9, between 6:45 a.m. and 9:15 a.m.

People who were at the location during that time are asked to monitor for measles symptoms for up to 21 days following the possible exposure.

“Call HealthLine 811 if you were exposed and: are unvaccinated, or are unsure of your vaccination status for measles, or develop measles symptoms,” the SHA said.​..

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is warning the public about a potential measles exposure risk at two hospitals due to confirmed measles cases.

In Saskatoon, a measles exposure risk was reported at the Royal University Hospital’s emergency department on July 27, from 12:50 a.m. to 5:10 a.m.

In Rosthern, a measles exposure risk was reported at the Rosthern Hospital’s emergency department on July 26, from 8:50 p.m. to Sunday, July 27, at 1:30 a.m.

The SHA asks anyone who was at either location during the specific times to monitor for measles symptoms for up to 21 days after the exposure.​..
