Santa Casa accompanying suspected case of H1N1

The Santa Casa de Piracicaba monitors the health of a patient with suspected symptoms of avian H1N1. The hospital informed, through advice, the woman is 47 years old and was admitted on Sunday with breathing difficulties, cough and chest pain - the framework that had lasted six days. Yesterday, tests revealed pulmonary and clinical deterioration. By late afternoon, the patient was under observation in the isolation unit and was awaiting transfer to ICU (Intensive Care Unit).
In the city, review of the Municipal Health Department released on March 30 reported that five suspected cases of influenza A were monitored. According to data from the Surveillance City, three were negative. The municipal secretary of Health, Fernando Cardenas, said in a conference on the 30th that nearly 2,500 people have sought health units with flu-like illness.
In 2009, Piracicaba reported three deaths due to flu: a pregnant teenager 16 years, a woman of 52 years and a couple of 27 years with Down syndrome, and 53 confirmed cases.
