Another death associated with the swine flu occurred in the San Diego area, bringing the total to 10, county health officials said Wednesday.

A 46-year-old woman who died while visiting San Diego, the latest victim, will not be included in local statistics, because she was not a resident of San Diego County, according to the county Health and Human Services Agency.

Instead, her death will be added to the count in her home state, the agency reported.

So far, 680 cases of the swine flu - also known as the H1N1 influenza virus - have been identified in San Diego County since the pandemic began earlier this year.

County health officials again urged the public to stay home from work or school if they have flu-like symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue.

Those with underlying medical conditions experiencing influenza-like symptoms should contact their doctor, according to the HHSA.

SAN DIEGO?Health authorities say a 46-year-old Georgia woman visiting the San Diego area has died from the swine flu.

County Health and Human Services Agency spokesman Jose Alvarez says the woman is the 10th person to die of swine flu in the county, but her death will be added to Georgia's tally and not San Diego's.

Alvarez says officials say they don't believe the woman, who had an underlying health condition, contracted the virus in San Diego.

There have been 680 cases of swine flu confirmed in San Diego County.
