1:50 p.m. Sacramento County reports second death: County officials reported that a second person has died due to COVID-19, according to a case tracker on the Sacramento County website. The person was older than 70 and had underlying health conditions. No more information was provided. The first death in Sacramento County was a nursing home resident in their 90s with underlying health conditions. The county now has a total of 33 cases. The recent death brings the state’s total number of deaths to seven.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Sacramento County health officials have confirmed a second death from coronavirus-related complications.

The patient who died worked as a substitute teacher in the Sacramento City Unified School District, the district said in a statement Monday. They were older than 70 years old and had underlying health issues, according to a news release from county public health officials.
