Bird Flu Confirmed at Chicken Farm in S. Chungcheong Province

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs has confirmed the presence of avian influenza (AI) in a chicken at a poultry farm in Buyeo, South Chungcheong Province.
Currently, around 22-thousand chickens are being raised at the poultry farm which distributes breeding cocks nationwide.
The ministry will convene a livestock quarantine meeting and discuss preventive measures.
The government will announce on Sunday whether the latest bird flu case concerns a highly pathogenic strain.
