Rwanda: Covid-19 cases - 4,534 cases; 22 deaths

Cases: 183 (7 new); Tested: 1,275 today; Recovered: 88 (1 new); Death: 0; Active cases: 95.

This reflects an increase in the number of cases of cross-border truck drivers and their assistants. All active cases have been placed in isolation and are in stable condition.

The preventive measures announced by the Government of Rwanda must be strictly observed, in particular washing hands regularly and staying at home. In addition, masks must be worn in public and in multi-family residences.

Hiding information relevant to contact tracing, or Covid-19 symptoms, jeopardizes public safety and will be punished in accordance with applicable laws.

COVID-19: Rwanda Confirms 16 New Cases

Rwanda has once again registered an unusual increase in numbers of Covid-19 infection after confirming 16 new cases on Monday, April 27.

It’s again an issue of drivers and their assistants, which was the case since Friday, April 24 when the country confirmed 22 cases, the biggest since March 14 when the first COVID-19 positive case was found in Rwanda.

...In Rwanda 6 new cases and 11 recoveries were registered on Saturday. Confirmed cases in Rwanda now stand at 255 with 120 recoveries and active cases at 135. To date, Rwanda has conducted at least 33,303 tests including 1,197 tests on Saturday. Once again as has been the case with their updates this week, Rwanda blamed the new cases on cross-border truck drivers...
