Rwanda: Cholera Outbreak Confirmed in Rusizi District

One case of cholera has been confirmed at Rubilizi Hospital in Rusizi District, Dr Simba Calliopie Akintije, the hospital's director, said yesterday.
Cholera is an infectious and often fatal bacterial disease of the small intestine, typically contracted from infected water supplies which result in severe vomiting and diarrhoea.
Cases of diarrhoea were first reported between July 2 and 3 at Bugarama and Buganza health centres...
