Putin signed a law on the possibility of registering leased foreign aircraft
MOSCOW, March 14 - RIA Novosti. Vladimir Putin signed a federal law that makes it possible to register the rights to foreign aircraft leased by Russian airlines, as well as to issue Russian airworthiness certificates to them. The corresponding document is published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
These measures will allow Russian companies to keep their aircraft fleet and operate foreign aircraft on domestic routes. Certification centers and testing laboratories will be involved in certification, the requirements for which will be determined by the relevant department.
In the field of maritime and inland water transport, the government will be able to impose retaliatory restrictions against foreign ships of those states that have banned Russian ships from entering their ports.
Railway rolling stock must now be subject to registration by number. Given the increased risk of sanctions against Russian companies, it is necessary to regulate relations in the field of number-based accounting at the level of a Russian regulatory legal act.
In addition, the law extends until December 31, 2023 the period by which transport infrastructure entities and carriers must complete the certification of security equipment.
According to Alexander Pronyushkin, a member of the Federation Council committee on economic policy, such decisions will increase the stability of the transport complex in the face of sanctions, support civil aviation, as well as maritime, inland waterway, rail and road transport.
