Variant virus introduced into Russian authorities confirmed that a patient entered the country from the UK

[Central News Agency] The Russian News Agency (RIA) today quoted Popova, the head of the Russian consumer health supervision agency, reporting that a Russian returning home from the UK was infected with a variant strain of the 2019 coronavirus disease. This is the first time in Russia. Similar cases.
But Popova (Anna Popova) did not provide more details.
The British government announced on December 19 last year that a variant strain of COVID-19 has been found in the country and is more infectious. ...“The mutated strain was found in samples taken from a Russian man who had returned from a trip to the UK before the New Year,” Rospotrebnadzor director Anna Popova told Rossiya channel on Sunday.
