Bird flu diagnosed in dead chickens in Novosibirsk region

NOVOSIBIRSK. May 11 (Interfax) - Experts from the Vector research center have identified a bird flu virus in dead chickens in the village of Reshety in the Novosibirsk region, Alexander Shestopalov, head of a zoological infection studies laboratory at Vector, told Interfax.

"A virus of the A H5 type has been detected, and further testing is being done to identify it," Shestopalov said.
