Doctors said Katie Mahoney wouldn't survive flu

Katie Mahoney, of Roseville, still can't believe the trauma she endured last winter...or that she survived it.

In November, Katie came down with what she thought was the common flu. "I had really bad headache, bad fever, chills," she said.

A week went by and her temperature reached 104 degrees--she knew this was no ordinary bug and went to the hospital. Doctors told her she had the H1N1 virus and it was affecting her in an extreme way.
