Nationally, the total number of cases of acute respiratory infections (flu clinic
Unconfirmed IACRS and pneumonia) was 86,699, 5.7% higher than the
registered in the same week of the previous season (82,984) and 2% lower than the
recorded in the previous week (88,504).

In the week 11/02/2015 - 11/08/2015 were registered 13 cases nationwide
Influenza / ILI, compared with 21 cases recorded in S 45/2014.

Until 11.08.2015 199 353 people were vaccinated from the flu risk groups,
vaccine distributed by the Ministry of Health.

Man dies from swine flu. It is the first case in Romania

A man from Bucharest, aged 38, has died due to the swine flu, which ravaged the country in 2008. This man had other medical problems and had not had flu shot, according to Realitatea TV.
According to the report released on Thursday by the National Centre for the Surveillance of Infectious Diseases the man has not been vaccinated and other illnesses he had have led to complications and ultimately death, digi24.ro reports.
In the report published by the National Institute of Public Health, 72 patients with flu were confirmed just last week countrywide. Also other 23 cases are seasonal flu.

6 deaths due to flu in a week in Cluj

Six people died in Cluj because of flu during the week of Feb. 22-28, records show the National Institute of public health. In total the country had died in the meantime, 17 people. The number of deaths due to influenza reaches to 50 early in the season for respiratory infections surveillance: 17 deaths in seven in Warsaw, six, six, two, two in one in Hunedoara and Ilfov counties Mureș, Iași, Suceava, Sibiu, Olt, Teleorman, V?lcea County, D?mbovița County and Galați. The flu is raging in Romania: the death toll has reached 67

Although flu season 2015-2016 has not yet ended, the number of people who have lost their lives, so far, reached 67, according to the report published yesterday by the national public health Institute, most of the deaths being caused by the H1n1 virus. 17 Romanians had died from influenza just in the last week. According to specialists in public health from the National Centre for surveillance and Control of communicable diseases (CNSCBT), early in the season and no later than March 8, at the national level, there have been cases of 881 influenza confirmed in the laboratory. Most of these (754) are caused by the H1n1 influenza virus, guilty of pandemic flu in 2009 (called 'pig' in the past). The same type of virus has done and most of the victims. Of the 67 deaths recorded so far, 63 were caused by the H1n1 and 4 with AH3, and 87% of those who have died and suffered other illnesses. 37-year-old woman with swine flu went into coma
